Middle School Math and Science, Academic Dean
Emily Roberts teaches middle school math and science, and coordinates accelerated and differentiated learning for Cascade Canyon School.
Emily brings 14 years of experience teaching in independent secondary schools in New York City, and has her Bachelors degree from the University of Chicago and her Masters and PhD from Princeton. In her teaching, Emily fuses her interests in critical thinking, science, math, cognitive science and social psychology. At her prior school, Emily also served as a half-time Dean, coaching teachers in how to individualize instruction, and writing differentiated curriculum.
Emily has found a home in working with middle level learners, after having taught at the university and high school levels, and recognizing that so many of the dispositions of learning and fundamental conceptual understandings are set by the end of middle school. She is glad to be a part of the Cascade Canyon community, where she can actively support small groups of students in their academic and personal growth.
Emily lives in San Rafael with her husband and son, and is enjoying life in the Bay Area.
